Fokker was a Dutch
aircraft manufacturer named after its founder, Anthony Fokker. The
company operated under several different names, starting out in 1912
in Schwerin, Germany, moving to the Netherlands in 1919.During its
most successful period in the 1920s and 1930s.
Anton Herman Gerard Fokker moved his aircraft factory, founded in
1912, from Berlin to Schwerin in 1913. This was accompanied by the
change of name to Fokker Aeroplanbau GmbH, renamed Fokker
Flugzeugwerke mbH in April 1916. The plant was located in
Bornhövedstrasse directly on Lake Schwerin. Parts are still
preserved. |
